After so much grief and such a difficult time healing from their daughter’s death after she drowned in a neighbor’s swimming pool, the Millers are pregnant, again. This is after they had their now 10-month old son. And,this time they are pregnant with identical twins. All of this has happened during their crusade to preach and teach water safety education.
Bode and Morgan Miller managed to overcome the pain of their loss thanks to their older son Nash, who is 4, and Bode’s other children from a previous relationship. They are now excited to see that they have been blessed with twins and they look forward to the moment when they are interacting with their new born children.
They have mentioned that their children have been an essential part of their healing process. This is one of the reasons why the news of having twins was most welcome for them as a family. They are glad that they have the chance to experience this once again with two children at once
Preaching Water Safety Education
The Miller’s have been extremely active in the process of raising awareness in regards to the many dangers related to swimming pools. They have also been involved in funding charities that promote the importance of teaching children how to swim at an early age. They are also promoting charities that encourage pool owners to take extra safety precautions around pools such as installing pool fences and alarms.
There is a nationwide campaign to ensure that swimming pool owners are taking these precautions in order to avoid more tragic deaths. Drowning continues to be one of the most common causes of death or injury in children between the ages of one to four.
The good news is that taking these precautions is an excellent way to basically eradicate deaths caused by drowning. Even when there can still be a few accidents in swimming pools after everyone takes these safety measures, the number of fatalities is going to see a significant decrease.
Now, the Millers have two more children to think about when they are raising awareness about the dangers related to swimming pools and the importance of teaching infants how to swim as early as possible.
My Final Thoughts
This story about Bode Miller and his wife, and how they unfortunately lost their youngest daughter in a drowning accident, weighed heavily upon my chest. My husband and I almost lost our son in a near drowning accident, and that’s why I teach very young children how to survive in water. Please, don’t hesitate to teach your children how to survive in water. If you think my firm, Life Saver Survival Swim School can help, please give me a call at (832) 367-3008.
