The Miller family was struck by tragedy when their 19-month old daughter drowned in a neighbor’s pool last year. This tragedy was devastating to the family. This led the couple to consider the importance of giving their new baby Easton Miller infant survival classes from a very early age.
The couple continues to campaign for pool safety, but they also know that the safety of a child does not end in what we can do to prevent accidents. It also extends to how capable a child is to survive in that situation. They wanted to make sure that Easton had this opportunity from a very early age.
Infant Survival Classes
People underestimate the ability that infants have when it comes to learning new things. There are one-year-old and even-six-month old infants that are leaning the basics of swimming and survival in the water. They learn in a very safe environment with professionals and this is a skill that is going to be very valuable for the rest of their lives.
Taking baby Easton to his first swimming lesson was a bittersweet experience for the Miller’s without a doubt. The moment they saw other children swimming in class, they knew that their daughter might have survived her accident if she had taken swimming lessons. At least they can find comfort in knowing how much awareness her death has recently caused in the country.
Good Can Always Come From Bad
Bode and Morgan Miller know that their tragic experience had to bring something positive to their lives. The birth of their son, and the lessons learned in regards to pool safety and not to be forgotten. They are constantly trying to raise awareness on the importance of strengthening pool safety and teaching infants how to swim.
